Fri, 19 October 2007 In what I hope becomes a regular new segment, Geaux Show fan Chicago Phil sent us this account of his trip to the UK game. "On Saturday my wife and I were witnesses to Kentucky's victory over LSU. As we stood in our seats for most of the game there in Commonwealth Stadium I did not think for one second that the Tigers were going to lose that game. Even on 4th and 2 in the 3rd overtime I didn't think that we would lose. Not until I saw the refs running off the field did I think that we would lose the game. Three days later and I'm still in shock and it's hard to believe. It was a very sloppy game on LSU's part and the Wildcats played their hearts out. The mistakes were far to many to counts or to overcome. One in particular will turn my stomach whenever I think about it for the rest of my life. In the 2nd Overtime period the offenses were driving toward the endzone that we were sitting in. When Terrance Toliver was called for illegal player down field I saw it before it happened. I saw that he was covered up by the other receiver on the end before the ball was snapped. And I immediately looked to the ref to see him drop the flag when Toliver started his route down field. I was sickened b/c he had caught the ball and was down inside the 5 yard line but I knew it would be called back. Eventually the Tigers had to settle for a tying field goal to force the 3rd overtime. In my humble opinion, that was the most costly mental error of a game filled with mental errors. I am still proud to be a Die-Hard Tiger fan and happy to see that we are still in contention for the National Title. Let's handle our business and play like we are capable each week and we will be in New Orleans for the Title game. Forever LSU!!! GEAUX TIGERS!!! Sun, 7 October 2007 Thanks to all the fans and friends who came out. This was hands down the best weekend I have ever had as a Tigers fan. Apologies to those who watched live, between Chase dropping the ball on the generator and the flaky lsu wi-fi, it could not have been a good experience, but many of you hung on till the end. I should have the full audio up tonight. Till then enjoy these video exerpts. P.S. Les Miles=ONIONS Category: Site News -- posted at: 1:29 PM Comments[0] |
